In the originally published article [1] (DOI: 10.22514/sv.2025.039), post-publication review by the Editorial Office identified that References [19], [23], and [24] in the Discussion section were inappropriate or did not fully support the corresponding statements.
In collaboration with the authors, the following corrections have been made in this Correction:
1. Reference [19] has been replaced with a more relevant citation:

The corresponding sentence in the Discussion section has also been updated for accuracy:
Original text: “In patients with severe pneumonia, an abnormally elevated PDW often indicates that the disease is deteriorating and is associated with a significant increase in patient mortality [19].”
Corrected text: “In patients with pneumonia, an abnormally elevated PDW often indicates that the disease is deteriorating and is associated with a significant increase in patient mortality [19].”
2. Reference [23] has been replaced with a more relevant citation:

The remainder of the Discussion section remains unchanged.
The authors confirm that these corrections are limited to the replacement of inappropriate references and a minor wording adjustment in one sentence. These changes do not affect the scientific content, results, interpretations, or conclusions of the original study.
