In the originally published article [1] (DOI: 10.22514/sv.2025.049), post-publication review by the Editorial Office identified several inaccuracies in the Methods, Results, and Statistical analysis sections.

In collaboration with the authors, the following corrections have been made in this Correction:

1. Methods section—Data collection timeline

The date “06 February 2024” appearing in the Methods section constitutes an inadvertent typographical error.

Original text: “…spanned one month starting from 06 February 2024.”

Corrected text: “…spanned one month starting from 06 February 2023.”

2. Statistical analysis section—Variable classification

Original text: “Age and times of extraction from the rubble were considered qualitative variables, whereas gender, location, and depth of cold burns, initial presentation sites of patients, and treatment outcomes for those who could be followed up were considered as quantitative variables.”

Corrected text: “Age and times of extraction from the rubble were considered quantitative (continuous) variables, whereas gender, location, and depth of cold burns, initial presentation sites of patients, and treatment outcomes for those who could be followed up were considered qualitative (categorical) variables.”

3. Results section—Cold burn depth percentages

The percentages for superficial and deep cold burns were inadvertently reversed.

Original text: “Regarding the depth of cold burns, 58.80% of patients (n = 10) had superficial burns, while 41.20% (n = 7) had deep burns (Table 2).”

Corrected text: “Regarding the depth of cold burns, 58.80% of patients (n = 10) had deep burns, while 41.20% (n = 7) had superficial burns (Table 2).”

The authors confirm that these corrections are limited to typographical errors, descriptive inaccuracies, and data presentation issues in the Results section. The underlying raw data, statistical analyses, interpretations, and conclusions of the original study remain unchanged.

The authors sincerely apologize for these oversights and any inconvenience caused. This Correction has been approved by the Editor-in-Chief. The original article PDF remains available as published and has not been altered. Readers are advised to refer to this Correction for the corrected statements in the Methods, Statistical analysis and Results sections.
