Special Issue Information

Acute trauma still poses several diagnostic, rehabilitation, medico-legal, and organizational challenges. This special issue will focus on the latest research, best clinical practices, and innovations in understanding, diagnosing, and treating acute trauma. The scope of articles may encompass but is not limited to, advancements in trauma care, interventions for both physical and psychological injuries, the role of early diagnosis, and strategies for enhancing recovery outcomes. Some topics are further detailed.

  • Innovations in diagnostic tools for acute injuries.
  • Best practices in wound care, fracture management, and rehabilitation strategies.
  • Aspects of clinical risk management and professional liability in traumatology.

  • Long-term psychological issues such as PTSD.


Prevention, Preparedness, and Organisation:

  • Effective community and healthcare system preparedness for mass casualty incidents and natural disasters.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Original articles, case reports or comprehensive reviews are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process.
